Maquel Christopher loves the simplicity and elegance of sterling
silver, crafting pieces with subtle details and refined lines. Her
children are her biggest inspiration, and it was after
searching for quality children's jewelry for her daughter Kate (and
finding little to her liking) that she took up silversmithing classes.
Maquel crafted personalized silver bracelets for Kate and her best
little buddy Emmie that were as big a hit with the kids as the grown
ups around them. Maquel is delighted to share her line of personalized
sterling silver bracelets and jewelry for infants, children
and adults. |

Julie Shumaker’s sterling jewelry combines traditional hand fabricating
methods with contemporary and organic design elements. The twisting vine-like
wire working, bird's nest jewelry, and the primitive "earthy" finish
of each piece are a reflection of her love of the outdoors. She hand crafts
each piece of jewelry with sterling silver sheet metal and wire, soldering,
melting, hand engraving, hammering and twisting. Finally she applies an
antiquing patina and scrubs the jewelry with wire brushes to give the metal
a comfortable "worn" feel. Since graduating in 1994 from Montana
State with a BA in Fine Arts, she has been creating jewelry in her
studio in the small town of Manhattan, Montana where she lives with her
husband, children and dogs. |
